First they came for the immigrants.  Now they are coming for No Mas Muertes, one of a number of border volunteer groups working to reduce the number of deaths at the border.   https://theintercept.com/2018/01/23/no-more-deaths-arizona-border-littering-charges-immigration/

Under the Trump administration, the Border Patrol is now arresting and charging people who leave water or clothes for migrants crossing the border in dangerous desert areas.

In the first 7 months of 2017, 232 people died crossing the border - -up 17% from 2016 despite a big drop in the total number of people trying to cross. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/aug/05/migrants-us-mexico-border-deaths-figures The arrests of No Mas Muertes volunteers makes it pretty clear the U.S. government prefers border crossers to die.

We are proud of our grants to border volunteer groups.
